A fishing boat moored to the Puerto Madryn pier sank

A fishing boat that was moored at the Almirante Storni dock in Puerto Madryn sank at site 4 after losing stability and listing, although the incident did not report personal injury because the protocol was activated and those on board abandoned the ship, reported the provincial government.

The incident occurred on the Pescargen IV vessel belonging to the so-called “red fleet” dedicated to shrimp fishing in the nearby fishing ground, the Port Administration said in a statement.

The agency also pointed out that the ship “was immediately evacuated, for which all the crew and stowage personnel who were on board left the deck, jumped onto the dock and are out of danger.”

At the mooring site, protocols were activated that include the deployment of environmental containment barriers so that solid and liquid residues that are released in the entire immersion process do not spread.
