So far, authorities in the department of Santander confirm that eight minors have been injured when handling gunpowder.
For that reason they will initiate the sanctioning processes towards parents, due to the lack of responsibility towards their children, added to the fact that in Bucaramanga and Santander the manufacture, sale and commercialization of these pyrotechnic elements is prohibited.

The Secretary of Health of Santander, Javier Villamizar, He stated that so far in December 15 people have been burned with gunpowder, of which eight are minors.
These last cases are distributed as follows: four in Bucaramanga, two in Aratoca, two in Cimitarra, one in Curití, one in Mogotes, another in Valle de San José and one more in Cerrito.
All cases are worrying, but the most serious is that of a nine-year-old boy who lost three fingers of his left hand and has one of his eyes at risk, after totes exploded.
The official emphasized that all the cases of the minors were referred to the ICBF, for the entity to establish what actions will be taken in the face of these events that should not be presented.

The most worrying thing is that so far the number of people burned with gunpowder in Santander already exceeds 277 percent, compared to the same season in 2020.
Likewise, a new call was made to the Police so that it reinforces the operations in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga and to avoid this type of events that sadden the Christmas of Santander.
Meanwhile, operations in the search for clandestine factories will continue, especially in rural areas of Girón and Floridablanca.
