Leonila Gonzalez, is soon to turn 98 years old. He lives at bus stop 10 in the commune of Florida. And on February 3, 2021, shortly after 8 a.m. on that Wednesday, he became the first person vaccinated against covid-19 in the commune.
This story is part of an unpublished and historical chapter. A deployment articulated by the Municipality and the Health Directorate of the Municipal Corporation of Florida (Comudef) which, after a year and a half of operation in the Espacio Esperanza vaccination center (which continues its operations), totals 1,450,000 doses administered against covid-19.
Currently, the Municipal Corporation of Florida, has strengthened territorial work in the commune. This implies approaching the neighbors with empathy and commitment. It is the seal that has been impregnated by the general secretary of this institution, Janett Fernández. With all this, this work is carried out through functional and tangible actions for people.
The four vaccinations
A key fact. Currently, the Hope Space it’s still working. Despite the fact that the Chilean soccer club, Audax Italiano, will play again at home in the Bicentennial stadium, in this place, vaccination is maintained without both instances being hindered: that is, sports and health.
In short, in addition to Espacio Esperanza, the commune of La Florida today has three more vaccination centers. The key data:
- Espacio Esperanza: it works from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00.
- HRH Los Quillayes (Julius Caesar, 11,400)
- Cesfam La Florida (Av. La Florida 6.015)
- Cesfam Villa O`Higgins (Santa Julia 870)
These places, the SAR and the two Cesfam, are operational to vaccinate people from Monday to Friday against covid-19 and influenza, from 08:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
