Aerolineas Argentinas through its Regional Manager Gaston de Chazal confirmed that, as of August 16, it adds a third daily frequency every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, thus totaling 19 weekly frequencies between Montevideo and Buenos Aires. In this context, the Vice Minister of Tourism of Uruguay Remo Monzeglio announced that in October the number of Aerolineas Argentinas passengers to and from Uruguay will equal the pre-pandemic numbers.
In turn, he informed that this expansion will allow connecting with 9 new destinations within Argentina: Ushuaia, El Calafate, Jujuy, Mar del Plata, Santiago del Estero, Santa Fe, La Rioja, Formosa and Trelew, are added to the offer a total of 26 direct connections that Uruguayans will be able to fly with minimum connection times.
In addition to domestic connections, departing from the Jorge Newbery Airport, it will be possible to connect with Santiago de Chile, Bogotá, Lima, São Paulo, Porto Alegre and Salvador de Bahía, also with minimum connection times.
Network expansion
It should be remembered that, in addition to the frequencies with Montevideo, the company currently operates every Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday to and from Punta del Este. In addition, during the high summer season, it considerably increases its flight offer with reinforcements and daily frequencies.
It is important to mention that the airline is in the process of expanding its networks with new operating routes such as Brasilia, Havana and direct flights from São Paulo to the main tourist centers of the country such as Bariloche, Ushuaia, San Martin de Los Andes, El Calafate and Salta, among others.
Aerolineas Argentinas operates in 36 cities in Argentina and flies more than 45 interprovincial routes and federal corridors that connect the entire country without having to return to Buenos Aires. In addition, it operates 21 international destinations in Latin America, the Caribbean, the USA and Europe.
Monzeglio positively highlighted the bet of the Argentine airline and reported that in the current month of August, it also has the following frequencies:
- Iberia: 4 weekly to Madrid
- Air Europa: 4 weekly flights to Madrid
- Avianca: 5 weekly flights to Bogotá.
- Blue: 7 weekly to Porto Alegre
- Goal: 7 weekly to San Pablo
- Cup: 18 weekly to Panama
- Jetsmart: 3 weekly to Santiago
- Paranair: 14 weekly to Asunción, and surely with some added
- Latam: 9 to San Pablo, 7 to Santiago and 4 to Lima
