Moreira explained that the operating expense of the State continues to grow between 4 and 6%, while that of the Assembly exceeds 11%.
The economist Raúl Moreira referred to the exorbitant budget of the National Assembly for fiscal year 2023 of $150 million, stating that the culprit of all this is the Comptroller General of the Republic, Gerardo Solís.
“Although he wants to play the martyr and tear his clothes and the poor thing, he is the Comptroller of the Republic, who has not fulfilled that function of avoiding that of the ‘bottles,'” he said.
Moreira explained that the operating expense of the State continues to grow between 4 and 6%, while that of the Assembly exceeds 11%.
He commented that it seems that the Assembly has always been disconnected from the reality of the country, since the beginning of the pandemic and now it is being verified. “You don’t see that discourse of identification with poverty, the inequality that the president of the Assembly made, you don’t see that in practice and now you don’t see it when the new budget is made,” he remarked.
