Santo Domingo- The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, accompanied by the Minister of Housing and Buildings, Carlos Bonilla, delivered this Wednesday the first completely finished apartments of the Mi Vivienda Hato Nuevo project, within the framework of the first year of MIVED management.
300 Dominican families received the key to their own house from President Abinader and Minister Bonilla.
Mi Vivienda Hato Nuevo is an urbanization that is being developed on more than 153 thousand square meters. The project will have a total of 1,232 3- and 2-bedroom apartment units.
This urban project also has a playground, basketball court, parking for vehicles and motors, in addition to a large green area that has more than 6,275 meters of expansion where an ecological trail is developed that runs through the entire project and that will serve its residents for exercises and walks in the fresh air.
The Government has made an investment of 2,858 million pesos in this housing project, and to date has executed 1,102 million. This has positively impacted the local economy through the generation of more than 2,900 direct jobs.
“I cannot think of a better way to celebrate our first year of MIVED than by giving homes to our people, today more than 300 families leave behind their days as renters and become owners of their own homes, this has been a fair selection process of the beneficiaries, transparent and adjusted to the fulfillment of the requirements, which has allowed us to identify those who most need us. We want Dominicans to believe in their rulers again, that things well done are possible, and this delivery demonstrates this,” Bonilla said during the delivery.
For his part, President Abinader congratulated the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED) for its first anniversary and expressed “Having a home is much more than having a space or roof to shelter in, it is having security, it is the possibility of developing a family life, with autonomy, to generate opportunities and to establish a future with more certainty”.
Hato Nuevo is part of the housing project announced by the central government that stipulates the construction of more than 7,400 apartments distributed between Santiago and Santo Domingo.
In addition to the Hato Nuevo project in West Santo Domingo, MIVED is building housing projects in Ciudad Modelo and San Luis; while in the northern zone the La Barranquita and Los Salados projects are being executed.
During the delivery of the keys, the president and the minister were accompanied by the administrator of Banreservas, Samuel Pereyra Rojas, and the Comptroller of the Republic, Catalino Correa, among other personalities.
