The Credit Council of the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (FEDA) is preparing to grant a general interest amnesty for all financing granted to cooperative associations and agricultural projects, as a way to alleviate the crisis caused by Covid-19 and the war between Russia and Ukrainein order to promote agricultural production benefiting thousands of agricultural producers.
The amnesty was announced by Hecmilio Galvan Cruzexecutive director of the FEDA, who affirmed that this initiative fulfills the wishes of President Luis Abinader to take a burden off small producers at the national level who, in turn, by paying off their debts, become subject to credits from the FEDA itself and other financial entities and thus more jobs and food can be created for the country.

Galván said that these benefits are announced within the framework of a series of activities for the 50th anniversary of the FEDA.
Among these activities are a thanksgiving mass, a floral offering to the Altar of the Homeland, acts of recognition to the staff, an International Seminar on Rural Development and Agrifood Security and a National Congress of Dominican Agricultural Leadership.
He also presented a new bill that modifies Law 367-72 and strengthens the role of the institution as well as developing a series of activities for the benefit of farmers.
