Deputies to the National Assembly of People’s Power (ANPP) will have intense working days from today, since the VIII ordinary period of sessions of the IX Legislature, in addition to the approval of three laws, contemplates the analysis of economic and social issues of the utmost importance to the country.
In the presence of Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic; Esteban Lazo Hernández, member of the Political Bureau and President of Parliament, asked them to convey the feelings that today are part of the life of the population and society.
After recalling these two years of hard combat against the epidemic, he affirmed that the ANPP is meeting again, this time with the presence of 504 deputies, who will not only receive information from the ministries of Agriculture, Food Industry, and Domestic Trade and Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, including the Central Bank of Cuba, but will present their concerns and proposals.
On the morning of this Saturday, in the plenary hall of the Havana Convention Center, they will debate the draft laws of the Military Courts, the Criminal Process and the Territorial and Urban Planning and Land management, and in the afternoon they will resume the analysis of the draft of the Family Code.
In this regard, Lazo stressed how useful it is for the population to know the approach or opinions of Cuban legislators on this latest document, which is very important and which they have been studying for days.
He also anticipated that tomorrow, Sunday, in commissions, issues related to the economy, budget execution, problems in agriculture and how a group of laws approved in Parliament is being complied with will be dealt with separately.
On Monday, and as part of the information that the aforementioned organizations will offer, the progress of the measures aimed at transforming Cuban agriculture, retail trade (on which the population has expressed their criteria) and trade will also be assessed. foreign and foreign investment.
Lazo explained that as of Tuesday 21, when the VIII ordinary period of sessions begins, the sessions will be very intense since the behavior of the Economy in 2021 and the plan for the coming year will be known, and the bill will be approved of the Budget and those of the three legislations mentioned, but not before discussing that day.
It is a very loaded agenda, stressed the President of the ANPP, for which he asked the deputies to make the most of the time, with their criteria or interventions, so that they can return to their provinces on the scheduled date and thus celebrate the celebrations for the end of the year and the new anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution.
