The Ministry of Public Health reported today 772 covid infections detected in 3,399 samples for the first time, placing the daily positivity at 22.71%.
In the epidemiological bulletin 866, it indicated that another 264 new cases were reported in the National District, 120 in the Santo Domingo province and 89 in Santiago.
In addition, 38 in La Vega, 37 in Duarte, 33 in San Pedro de Macorís, 20 in Espaillat, 18 in La Romana and Pedernales, 14 in Barahona and La Altagracia, respectively.
Also, 15 in Hato Mayor, 12 in Hermanas Mirabal and San Cristóbal; 9 in Puerto Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez and Monsignor Nouel.

Likewise, 5 in Azua, 4 María Trinidad Sánchez, 3 in Independencia, in San Juan and an unspecified place, 2 in Baoruco and El Seibo, 1 in Dajabón, Montecristi and Pedernales.

The health authorities established that the active cases of covid add up to 2,230 while those registered are 630,419, of which 623,806 have recovered and 2,963,909 have been discarded.
He pointed out that among the risk groups, 79,367 children under the age of 20 have been infected with coronavirus, as well as 3,698 pregnant women and 3,576 health workers.
Deaths from covid-19 remain at 4,383, of this group 24.62% of patients suffered from hypertension and 15.90% from diabetes, for a lethality of 0.70%.
He pointed out that hospital occupancy stood at 4.2%, with 100 occupied beds of the 2,373 available to assist those who fall ill with covid, according to official Public Health figures.
He specified that the intensive care units (ICU) have 12 people in serious condition as a result of the infection, which is equivalent to 2.1% in an area that has 585 beds enabled.
