By February 2023, in Villeta, the German global company CREMER will begin producing biodiesel from soybeans, with an investment of US$15 million, and the hiring of Paraguayan labor, as announced by Massimiliano Corsi, president of the Paraguayan Chamber of Biodiesel Paraguay (BIOCAP).

The businessman spoke about this project after a working meeting with authorities from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC).

“We present the company CREMER Oleo Paraguay SA, which is coming to make an important investment in Paraguay on the biofuel issue. It is a very advanced biodiesel plant, with an investment of over 15 million dollars, and in February 2023 the plant will be ready to start production, intended largely for export, but also, it will be counted with a biodiesel program with the local part, for its internal production”, highlighted the president of BIOCAP.

Corsi highlighted, regarding the presentation of the project, they found “a good disposition of the Government” to advance with this undertaking.

He also mentioned that the industrial plant will be located in Villeta, and that for the first year they plan to produce about one hundred thousand tons of biodiesel, thanks to raw material suppliers from local companies. He said that they will hire more than 50 people directly in the initial stage.

“We consider that it is a good investment, because it will increase employment and the socioeconomic part of the country. The raw material that they will use in the process is soybean oil from nearby companies, whose production is assured,” he said.

Regarding the international company CREMER, he pointed out that it is a German company that has subsidiaries all over the world, with offices in the US and China, and that it has a lot of diversification in what it produces. “In Paraguay they are starting with biodiesel, and in a second phase, they plan to set up a glycerin refiner, which comes from the production of biodiesel, and continue advancing with other investments. This is just a start,” he pointed out.

He also indicated that the conditions are currently in place to increase the biodiesel program, and that as a Chamber they support their associates. “CREMER Oleo Paraguay SA joined CIOCAP this month, and as a Chamber we are satisfied because we are working very well with the private sector, and with the Government, especially with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce” , he underlined.
