The Brazilian women’s basketball team enters the court at 18:30 (Brasilia time) this Tuesday (2) against Uruguay, in the second game of the first round of the South American Championship, in San Luis (Argentina). The competition, the first of the Olympic cycle for Paris 2014, guarantees the semifinalists participation in the AmeriCup 2023, the America’s Cup of the sport. South America has live broadcast on YouTube of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

The Brazilians, commanded by coach José Neto, debuted with plenty last night (1st) against Colombia, with a 74-45 victory. The top scorers were Leila Zabani (12), Kamilla Cardoso (10), Debora Costa (nine ) and Alana Gonçalo (nine).
The selection is in Group B, which in addition to Colombia and Uruguay, has Chile. In Group A are hosts Argentina, Paraguay, Ecuador and Venezuela. The top two teams in each group advance to the semifinals. The last game of the first phase will be against Chile, at 18:30 on Wednesday (3).
Greatest champion in the history of the women’s South American Championship – there are 26 titles since 1946 – Brazil last lifted the cup in 2016, in Venezuela.
