Heavy rains of the last hours in the north of Valle de Aburrá generated some emergencies on roads and neighborhoodsspecially in Medellin jurisdiction.
According to a report delivered by the Administrative Department of Disaster Risk Management (DAGRD) to the emergency line, 123 entered approximately 160 emergency calls that were verified by units of the official Fire Department. The areas where the response actions were focused were the communes Popular, Manrique, Castilla, Doce de Octubre and Robledo.
From the entity they recommended to the citizens “keep calm, clean drains, sinkholes, streams and monitor permanent at the level and their behavior”.

One of the most affected sectors, according to citizen records, was El Sinai, in the northeast sector of the city, where the water affected different houses. Also, in the depression of the North Transport Terminal, 18 passengers were evacuated and the driver of a public transport bus that had been left trapped due to flooding in the area.

Likewise, the Early Warning System reported that it was activated three times one of the 27 community alarms that exist to deal with emergencies due to rain in the Aburrá Valley, it was found in the El Cafetal sector of the municipality of Bello, where the La Loca creek threatens to overflow.
