The incident was recorded around 7:00 p.m. on the last Wednesday, July 27, inside the house located on Avenida 28 de Julio s/n, Unión neighborhood, in Sicaya. The young mother, Dora Mendoza (25), wanted to turn on the kitchen to prepare dinner, but she did not notice the gas leak that filled the room with fuel.
The deflagration generated a strong movement, blowing up the roof of the house made of rustic material, as well as burning everything inside the house, including furniture and clothing. The mother and the children, YRM(5) and JRM(3), were locked up with their clothes on fire.
“It was a neighbor who broke the door and managed to get everyone out. The children were screaming because I was burning their clothes, the only thing we could do was cut everything off with scissors, because it had stuck to the body,” said Maruja Poma.
