Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Public Health reported today 512 new infections of covid-19 detected in 2,342 samples for the first time with a daily positivity placed at 21.86%.
In the epidemiological bulletin 863 that the active cases of the virus add up to 3,111 while those registered are 628,725 of which 621,231 have recovered and 2,958,236 have been ruled out.
He pointed out that among the risk groups, 79,114 children under the age of 20 have been infected with covid-19, as well as 3,698 pregnant women and 3,576 health workers.
He specified that the tests carried out yesterday were 3,947 of which 1,605 were carried out subsequently with a positivity of the last four weeks placed at 12.07%.
Deaths from covid-19 remain at 4,383, of which 24.62% suffered from hypertension and 15.90% from diabetes as a comorbidity with a fatality rate of 0.70%.
He pointed out that hospital occupancy was placed at 4.2% with 99 occupied beds of the 2,373 available to assist those who fall ill with the virus, according to official figures from the Ministry of Public Health.

He specified that the intensive care units (ICU) have 17 people in serious condition as a result of the infection, which is equivalent to 2.9% in an area that has 585 beds enabled.
He added that 0.2% are connected to ventilators with 1 patient connected to ventilators of the 469 of these devices available for those cases.
