On the morning of Saturday, July 30, a gas leak was detected at the La Unión hotel in Hundred fires. The situation was controlled in a short time and there was no material damage or human life.
At the scene of the events, the Fire Department, the authorities and the UEB Territorial Division of Fuel Marketing carried out the pertinent actions to restore the services of the facility as soon as possible. The 85 guests and all the workers present are safe.
During the actions, the 85 evacuated guests were transferred to the San Carlos hotel, also belonging to the Meliá chain itself. The evacuation was decided to avoid possible accidents related to the leak of liquefied gas detected by a maintenance worker who was checking the hotel bullet to analyze the consumption of said fuel. At the time, a protection and security agent activated the Fire Protection brigade, as established in the protocol of the tourist facility.
