The first decision of Government it became known after the resignation of Gustavo Béliz to the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs. Béliz will be replaced by Mercedes Marcó del Pont, as notified the executive.
For his part, Marcó del Pont, who until now led the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP), will be replaced by Carlos Castagneto, in accordance with the changes established by the Government.
But perhaps the most drastic and important restructuring will take place in the Palacio de Hacienda, since The portfolios of Economy, Productive Development, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries will be integrated into one.
This super ministry will be led by the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa, once his replacement is found on the bench. Massa will relieve the newcomer to the economic team, Silvina Batakis.
The former Minister of Economy, who held this position for only three weeks, received the news of her change at the Casa Rosada, just after arriving in the country after her trip to Washington, where she met with investors, businessmen, World Bank officials and the IMF (International Monetary Fund).
As Batakis will leave the Ministry of Economy, she will now become president of Banco Nación, a position previously held by Eduardo Hecker.
