The truckers and carriers sector decided this Friday to lift the force measure after reaching an agreement with Petropar authorities on discounts of up to G. 400 per liter in the price of fuel.
The head of Petropar, Denis Lichi, commented that from Monday they will start working with discount cards for the truckers, carriers and platform drivers sector. “Each vehicle owner has to come to present their documents and we give them the card there,” he mentioned.
The discount is G. 400 per liter at Petropar’s own stations, added to the G. 500 announced days ago for the general public, while at outsourced stations, the discount will be G. 200
In turn, Juan Villalba, president of the Central Obrera y Transporte Del Paraguay indicated that after the agreement the decision is to lift the points of protests that began days ago.
The lifting of the strike occurs after the third consecutive day of mobilization driven by truck drivers, dump trucks, crane drivers, as well as internal buses and platform drivers such as Bolt and Uber.
The carriers set the campus of the National University of Asunción (UNA) located in San Lorenzo as the point of convocation, although they were also stationed on different routes in the country.
