The organization Texas Nicaraguan Community reported through its Facebook page the disappearance of two Nicaraguans identified as Claudia Elizabeth Castro Andino Y Winston David Perez Cruz.
According to the report, the citizens were trying to get to the United States, however when passing through the city of Reynosa – in the State of Tamaulipas located in northeastern Mexico – both disappeared.

«We make the formal complaint so that the competent authorities take action on the matter. Attorney General of the State of Tamaulipas» says the publication.
The aforementioned entity limited itself to responding that “for the complaint (to take effect) it must be presented at the nearest Public Ministry to formalize it.”
Article 66 consulted the organization to find out details of the case, but they stated that they are limited only to “following up on the proper publication,” and detailed that the Government and the Nicaraguan Consulate in Mexico are aware of the case.
Nicas kidnapping victims
This media outlet also tried to contact the relatives of Castro Andino and Pérez Cruz, but it was not possible to establish communication. One of the greatest dangers faced by immigrants trying to reach the United States is being kidnapped by the different cartels that operate in the border cities of Mexico.

One of the Nicaraguans who was a victim of crime in the Aztec country was the former political Ana Gabriela Nicaragua Lopezwho was kidnapped on November 14, 2021 by the Juárez Nueva Generación Cartel, in Mexico, when trying to cross into the United States, being released on the 18th of the same month.
More than 20 Nicaraguans have perished by drowning in the Rio Grande, when they have tried to cross it to reach North American lands, others have been kidnapped and extorted.
