This Thursday the National Assembly (AN) installed the Venezuela-Syria Parliamentary Friendship Group, with the purpose of generating effective mechanisms to achieve common objectives and boost cooperation agendas that tend to increase reciprocal relations.
According to a note from the ANthe president of the group, Imad Saab Saab, stressed that through parliamentary diplomacy between the two nations “all the conditions will be generated so that commercial, cultural and political relations are successfully achieved.”
The meeting was attended by the charge d’affaires of the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic, Wael Deirki; the administrative and financial attaché of the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic, Saeed Kafa; the president of the Federation of Venezuelan-Arab Entities (Fearab-Venezuela), Ziad Al Hamad; the president of the Council of Syrian-Venezuelan Businessmen, Michel Mazloum and the president of the Syrian-Venezuelan Center-Caracas, George Elías.
Also present at the meeting were the second vice president of the Venezuelan parliament, deputy Vanesa Montero, and the vice president of the Permanent Commission on Foreign Policy, deputy Roy Daza.
In the Venezuela-Syria Friendship Groupformally installed this Thursday with deputy Saab Saab in the presidency and Anuar Younese Maali in the vice presidency, deputies Nancy Ascencio, Geraldina Parada, Verushcka Silva and Fayruz Bazzi, and deputy Robert Sandoval also participate.
Joint work
For Imad Saab Saab, the installation of the Friendship Group between Venezuela and Syria opens the possibility of “generating jobs in common through the commercial exchange of import and export of products, in favorable conditions for both countries.”
Among the plans is the possibility of exchanging points of view with Syria regarding the current international political scenario, since both countries share situations of aggression by the United States Government through unilateral coercive measures.
Venezuela-Syria meeting
The group’s president, Imad Saab Saab, reported that a meeting will soon be held with his Syrian counterparts, in order to coordinate the measures to be implemented to counteract the damage caused by the economic blockade.
