On repeated occasions, complaints have been presented by the inhabitants of El Charquito (corregimiento two of Soacha) and where you enter the Salto de Tequendama because to get to their houses they had to pay the toll when they were not leaving the municipality.

For this reason the mayor of Soacha Juan Carlos Saldarriaga managed a meeting with the governor of Cundinamarca, Nicholas Garcia to listen to the presidents of the board, mayors and leaders of the territory in question.
In the middle of the dialogue, they talked about the commitments made with the Institute of Infrastructure and Concessions of Cundinamarca (ICCU) and the departmental government and that to date has not been fulfilled, among these agreements was contemplated the increase of inhabitants in the area for the non-payment of the toll and also the improvement of the road.
To solve the problem where the community must pay almost daily $11,500 to enter through that area, the leaders promised to carry out the process so that the national government makes this transfer.
In this regard, the governor indicated that, hand in hand with the mayor, I promise to ask the ministry for the binding concept to be able to move the toll booth to another sector, where it was initially planned for more than 25 years. This important news also works to improve tourism in the Tequendama waterfall where those who travel at least to that space, will not have to pay entry and exit toll, in addition to the fact that the ticket is more expensive and fewer buses go to the area precisely because of the payment of that toll.

Likewise, Saldarriaga recalled that they spent “20 years of history trying to get a governor to set his eyes on Soacha and today, Nicolás tells us that there is no problem and that we are going to benefit the community.
