Patient Daiane Chaves Cavalcanti, who suffered complications after plastic surgery performed by doctor Bolívar Guerrero Silva, had dressings removed today (29), after corrective procedures, and will undergo a new reconstructive surgery.
Lawyer Ornélio Mota Rocha, who defends Daiana, was at the hospital yesterday where is she hospitalized, with the victim’s father, Anderson Cavalcanti, where he received information about the patient’s health status, who is 35 years old. “Doctors removed one of the vacuum bandages from below one of her breasts and another from the lower part of her belly, which are already healed,” Ornelio said, adding that she still has two bandages.
“Daiane is also being accompanied by a psychiatrist and a psychologist at the hospital, due to her emotional fragility due to the traumas she experienced in the hospital. Santa Branca Hospital. She will still undergo another surgical procedure on Wednesday (3) or the next day to correct the surgery “, informed the lawyer.
Procedure
In early June, Daiana underwent surgical procedures on her abdomen and breasts with the 63-year-old Ecuadorian plastic surgeon Bolívar Guerrero Silva. The surgeries left her with several sequelae, such as necrosis of the tissue below her breasts and belly.
The patient returned days later to the hospital with swollen and red breasts and an open wound on her stomach. Despite requests for hospital transfers made by Diana, she says she was kept against her will in Hospital Santa Branca. The doctor has been in prison since the 18th, accused of keeping the patient in private prison, as a way of hiding her state of health.
After almost two months kept in the hospital, the patient was transferred last week, by court decision, to the Federal Hospital of Bonsucesso. At last Friday (22), the patient underwent a surgical procedure to remove the necrotic skin.
Extension of prison
This week, Justice extended for another 25 daysat the request of the Public Ministry, the temporary arrest of the doctor.
The police investigation was initially initiated to investigate serious bodily injury against patient Daiana Chaves, but it also started to investigate criminal association and false imprisonment, with temporary arrest being decreed for an initial period of five days and, later, extended for another five days. days.
Upon receiving the inquiry, prosecutor Cláudia Portocarrero understood that, contrary to the indictment made by the police, there were strong indications that the agent would have taken the risk of killing the victim and, therefore, would have committed a more serious crime: qualified homicide in the tried, hideous modality.
