Businessmen warned about the urgent need to establish mechanisms to control the rise in fuel prices.
“Fuel represents 30% of the cost structure, however this variation in prices cannot be charged directly to the price of tickets, that is why a lifeline from the Government is urgent since other factors such as devaluation are added to this that impacts the cost of equipment, supplies, spare parts and tires for vehicles”, pointed out the president of ADITT, Jose Yesid Rodriguez.

Regarding the renewal of the vehicle fleet with new technologies, mainly electric vehicles, the businessmen stated that “new financing mechanisms are required to achieve the replacement of equipment with new technology”, said Camilo García, Director of the Superior Council of Transport.
Finally, faced with the fight against informality and illegality, Marino Quintero, president of Asotrans, assured that “The sector expects a strengthening of the institutional framework with entities committed to protecting the formal and a more efficient Ministry and Superintendence in the control of illegality.”
