The National Council for Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism recognized the Cibao International Airport as a Carbon Neutral company of the Dominican Republic along with six other companies that have managed to certify their carbon neutrality.
The delivery certification was made at the end of the Regional Climate Week for Latin America and the Caribbean, for good practices, sustainability, and constructive and exemplary leadership by making investments with a vision of the future.
On behalf of the aeronautical company, the General Administrator, Engineer Teofilo Gómez, received the recognition, who highlighted the commitment to environmental sustainability assumed by the Cibao International Airport.
“I am grateful for this recognition, which is a commitment to move forward and to be a motivator for other companies, while highlighting that this vision of environmental sustainability has been assumed for more than ten years.
Cibao Airport recently became the first airport in the country, Central America and the Caribbean to receive Carbon Neutrality certification, the only global carbon emission management certification for airports.
