With the end of the winter holidays, the Road Administration of the province of Buenos Aires reported that there will be restrictions on the circulation of trucks along the roads and highways of the region.
The measure that will be applied this Sunday, July 31, reaches the vehicles “with cargo of more than seven tons of gross weight”, as notified by the agency, for which the trucks They will not be able to circulate on Highway 2, and provincial routes 11, 36, 56, 63, 74.
The restriction for trucks It also applies to the Buenos Aires Highway, La Plata, from 2:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. this Sunday, “with the aim of facilitating vehicular movement and preventing traffic accidents on tourist routes,” as reported.
The agency also recommended that all drivers “drive with the low beams on, with the updated VTV, respect the maximum and minimum speeds, wear the seat belt and not pass another vehicle with the presence of a double yellow line.”
The entity also recalled that children under 12 years of age “must travel in the back seat properly secured”, and that it is essential that drivers have slept and rested before embarking on a trip and not be under the influence of alcohol.
It should be remembered that, according to data from the Ministry of Transportation, during the winter holidays, 600,000 people were going to travel by plane to different parts of the country, 55,000 on long-distance trains, as well as more than 5,000 vehicles.
Which trucks will be exempt from the measure
The Department of Highways reported that the vehicles with loads less than seven tons of gross weight will be exempt from the measure, as well as the transport of raw milk, its derived products and associated packaging.
Also, transportation of live animals, frozen fish and shellfish, fruit and vegetable products in transit; exclusive press and mobile units of audiovisual media, among others.
