Fuel prices will remain unchanged and below import parity

The Executive Branch, through the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining, decided not to vary the price of fuel during August. In this way, the values will continue below the import parity price (PPI) that is released monthly by the Regulatory Unit for Energy and Water Services (Ursea). The measure was informed by the head of the portfolio, Omar Paganini, after meeting with President Lacalle Pou.

“There is a significant reduction in the gap, although it still does not reach the retail price that we have today,” said Paganini, regarding the difference with the PPI.

The minister stated that the evolution of costs in the international reference markets determines the transfer of an increase to prices, and the results in Ancap’s balance sheet allow the entity to assume that variation.

Super 95 gasoline will continue at 80.90 pesos per liter and 50S diesel at 65.

In addition, through a statement, the Government reported that it will continue to monitor the volatility of the energy market, in order to mitigate the negative effects on the consumer, without neglecting Ancap’s equity and financial integrity. Presidency
