President Alberto Fernández elected this Thursday the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa, to head a unified Ministry of Economy, Productive Development and Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries in a decision that involves reorganizing all the economic areas of the Cabinet to face complex challenges and that opens a new stage in politics.
Fernández decided to reorganize the economic areas of his Cabinet for better functioning, coordination and management, the sources indicated.
In that sense, it will unify the Ministries of Economy, Productive Development and Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, also including relations with international, bilateral and multilateral credit organizations.
Massa will assume as soon as the departure from his bench is resolved in a special session convened by the deputy himself to formalize his resignation and elect the new head of the body which will replace it until December 2023.
When asked about the name of his successor, Massa said that “it is a decision that corresponds to the Front of All.”
In fact, the ruling party bench led by Germán Martínez must define who will occupy the position that Massa will leave, whose name will have to be approved in the special session on Tuesday.
Batakis, to the National Bank
The head of state also appointed Silvina Batakis as president of Banco Naciónreason why it will leave the Ministry of Economy.

Fernandez appointed Mercedes Marco del Pont instead of Beliz in the Secretariat for Strategic Affairs, reported official sources. Del Pont had been serving as head of the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP).
In that sense, Fernández appointed the accountant Carlos Castagneto as head of the AFIPwho had been working as general director of Social Security Resources in the organization in which he will now take office.
During the Government of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, Castagneto was Deputy Minister of Social Development.
