Paraguayan Gustavo Morínigo manages Coritiba FC in the competitive Serie A championship in Brazil. The coach referred to his presence in that team and the arrival of Hernán Pérez as reinforcement.
“It’s not easy (directing in Brazil), we’ve been here for more than a year and eight months,” explained the DT today in communication with Versus Radio – Universo 970 AM.
“Here it is also the same as in Paraguay, the coaches do not last long,” he pointed out regarding the respect for the long processes of the coaches in the clubs of the giant South American country.
In relation to the infrastructure he found there, Morínigo said: “The structure in Brazil is different. At a competitive level, we are the team that receives the least money due to the recent promotion”.
Likewise, he acknowledged that he received proposals to go to other teams with greater economic wealth: “I had two or three offers here in Brazil that have a better (economic) position. But I stayed, it was a decision based on the values of the team”.

Regarding Hernán Pérez, announced today as Coritiba’s reinforcement, he stated: “We believe in him and in his footballing ability. We are waiting for the pass from Qatar to be able to enable it”.
“Matías (Galarza) is working well, only that he has to dispute the position with the team captain and it is a bit difficult, but he is always taken into account,” he added.
In addition, Morínigo announced that Alfredo Aguilar, Olimpia’s goalkeeper, could have ended up at ‘Coxa-branca’: “At some point, yes, Alfredo was close. We were interested in him, it didn’t happen and now we’ve hired a goalkeeper”.
