Tecnópolis, the mega exhibition of art, cinema and technology, celebrated this Thursday its 500,000th visitor of these winter holidays under the slogan “Sovereign Argentina, creating futures”, with more than 100 interactive experiences by 60 public and private organizations and a wide range of shows, recitals and talks.

The entrance arch to the Villa Martelli property was filled with colors at 3:15 p.m. as part of these festivities, and thousands of visitors began to tour the mega exhibition. “Bringing all young people closer to what Argentine science and technology is, is the objective of Tecnopólis,” assured the Minister of Science, Daniel Filmus who visited the stands with his pair of Culture, Tristán Bauer, and the director of Tecnópolis, María Rosenfeld.

They were also able to see a sample of Invap, a company that builds and develops satellites in Bariloche, with different rooms where they can learn about satellites and space technology.

“Knowing that Argentina is one of eight countries in the world that can build satellites fills me with pride, because that speaks to the quality of our people, our educational system, Conicet and our researchers,” said Filmus.

And he added, “our goal is to awaken scientific vocations. Boys decide which career to pursue intuitively in the early years of elementary school. The way to approach the boys is in an entertaining way. All the spaces are very interactive, it is incredible that there have been half a million visits in these few days, this implies that there really is an affection, love, affection and a need for spaces equal to Tecnópolis”, he concluded.

For his part, the Minister of Culture, Tristán Bauer, said that the park is fundamentally “at the service of science and technology” and highlighted the attitude of the children asking the guides questions at each station.

“Tecnópolis is a great awakening of vocations, a celebration of culture and technology. We constantly come, we go through it and talk to visitors and we receive joy from spending the day, happiness and also from discovery and knowledge”, said Bauer.

“The sea as territory”, located in the red innovation pole, is one of the most visited pavilions and platforms, according to the organizers. There, families can find different immersive rooms with different themes regarding plastic pollution in the oceans, exhibitions on bicontinental Argentina, and “Pisar Malvinas”, an interactive space in which it is simulated to be on the islands.
