“Laguna” in the Americas hinders transit

“Laguna” en las Américas dificulta tránsito

Santo Domingo.-One “lagoon” of water that forms on Las Américas avenue in the treatment between Sabana Larga and Venezuela avenues in Santo Domingo East, makes transit through this road difficult and causes long blockages and stuck vehicles.

Drivers traveling on this road complain that neither the Ministry of Public Works (MOPC) nor the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (CAASD) do anything to resolve such a situation.

The water lagoon that forms there every time it rains is not new, despite the fact that there are several sewers in the aforementioned section that is above the tunnel, however they do not receive the frequent conditioning that they deserve.

Situations like this are repeated throughout the country at the slightest downpour, as a result of the poor sewage system that exists but also due to the lack of maintenance of the few that exist in strategic points.
