The plenary of the Chamber of Deputies approved this Thursday (16) a measure that allows civil and military civil servants in the areas of health and public security to have the period from May 2020 to December 2021 to acquire rights related to the time of service. The matter goes to the Senate.
Civil servants from the Union, states, the Federal District and municipalities in the areas of health and safety are included. By the text, late payments are prohibited due to the counting of time in that period and specifies that payment will return on January 1, 2022.
The text alters the legislation that directed federal resources to states, the Federal District and municipalities to fight the covid-19 pandemic and restricted expenses with personnel from the Union and other federal entities during this period. Among the restrictions is the right to compute time for rights that are already entitled, such as annuals, trienniums, premium licenses and other mechanisms, including the payment of new rights acquired during the period of enactment of the pandemic, between March and December 31st.
For the author of the proposal, Guilherme Derrite (PP-SP), “the project only corrects an injustice with those professionals who were on the front lines during the hardest time of the pandemic”.
