YPF and Santa Cruz will sign an agreement to resolve the debt with the province

At the request of the negotiations initiated by the Santa Cruz Energy Institute with YPF, an additional investment of US$ 100 million was agreed.

The governor of Santa Cruz, Alicia Kirchner, and the president of YPF, Pablo González, will sign an act on Monday, August 1 that will allow the oil company to resolve the debt that the oil company has with the province for US$341 million, plus US$100 additional millions.

The signing of the agreement will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the White Room of the Government House, where Kirchner and González will resolve the debt generated in terms of investments between 2016 and 2019, which amounts to US $ 341 million dollars, the company reported in a statement.

“On the other hand, at the request of the negotiations initiated by the Santa Cruz Energy Institute with YPF, an additional investment of US$ 100 million was agreed upon,” he added.

YPF clarified that, in this way, it will be possible to increase investments in the deposits that it operates in Santa Cruz between the 2021-2027 period from US$ 1,135 million to US$ 1,577 million.“which are already reflected in the generation of jobs through the rise of equipment that took place in 2021 and 2022”.

“The decline in investments by YPF produced between 2016 and 2019, brought with it training debts, amounting to US$2,464,000, which will be managed through the Provincial Council of Education,” he concluded.
