Covid-19 daily report: 9,829 new infections, 72 deaths and active cases reached 33,706

The Ministry of Health (Minsal) published this Thursday morning the daily report on the situation of the pandemic in the country. The portfolio reported that there were 9,829 new infections in the last and 72 deaths from causes associated with the disease in the last 24 hours. Likewise, active cases reached 33,706.

Of the total number of new cases of Covid-19, 5,524 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,833 do not present symptoms. In addition, 2,472 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.

The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is 13% and -16% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, two regions have decreased their cases in the last seven days and thirteen have done so in the last two weeks.

The total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the country reaches 4,214,769. Of that total, 33,706 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 4,116,595.

Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 72 deaths from causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 59,477 in the country.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 63,213 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 41,878,299 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 14.69% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 12.85%.

To date, 178 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 101 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 270 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
