The plenary of the National Assembly (AN) unanimously approved the draft agreement in commemoration of the 239th anniversary of the birth of the Liberator Simón Bolívar and the 199th anniversary of the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo and Bolivarian National Navy Day .
Deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello presented the draft agreement and highlighted the work of El Libertador Simón Bolívar, “this is our father, a constant source of inspiration. Our Bolívar is a true hero.”
The parliamentarian also mentioned the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo, an event in which the patriots defeated the troops of the Spanish empire. On this point, he highlighted: “Deputies, deputies, today more than ever we must be aware of the historical moment that we have had to live. We are anti-imperialist in nature.”
For his part, the deputy Alfonso Campos, highlighted the universality of the meaning of El Libertador Simón Bolívar for the peoples of the world. In the agreement of the parliament, the body recognizes the Bolivarian National Army of Venezuela.
