The rains recorded in the country have generated various emergencies on the roads leading to Villavicencio and in some neighborhoods of the city. According to the report of the National Institute of Roads, Invias, two of the main access roads are closed and another one operates with restrictions.
The Bogotá – Villavicencio road, registers passage to a single lane at kilometer 64 + 200 from this Wednesday night, due to the fall of rocky material in the areaproduct of the winter wave.

The other event is recorded on the Granada – Villavicencio road, at kilometer 64 + 500, in the sector known as Fanagra.
There the Invias reported, around 11:30 pm, that there is total closure of this road corridor due to the loss of banking and to the conditions of land that was destabilized by the rains and mass movements.

Another point that registered problems is the via Guayabetal – Villavicencio, about kilometer 58, where the Invias announced preventive total closure as a result of heavy rains. However, the passage was later enabled.

Floods in Villavicencio
The rains of the last hours have also generated floods in dozens of homes in different neighborhoods of Villavicencio, where local authorities report affected families.
Although at the moment the census of the affected people is not known, the Mayor’s Office of Villavicencio enabled the Francisco Arango School, in the 7 de Agosto neighborhood, as a collection center to receive aid for the victims.

Among the aid they are collecting there is non-perishable food, blankets and mats, pet food and toiletries.
