A magnitude 6.2 tremor was recorded at 11:15 p.m. in the city of Tacna, the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) reported on its social networks.
According to the report, the telluric movement occurred 434 kilometers south of Tacna with a depth of 55 kilometers.

The local authorities of the National Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci) have not yet reported personal or material damage due to the earthquake that occurred tonight.
In cases of earthquake, Indeci authorities recommend acting calmly and having identified safe areas inside and outside the homein order to avoid personal injury to regret.
In addition, they advise having an emergency backpack that contains tools, portable radio and basic non-perishable canned food.
