The Ombudsman’s Office before the three weeks without classes in the official sector, expresses its concern about the irreversible consequences that it causes in children and adolescents (NNA), whose right to education has been violated, according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and Law No. 285 that creates the System of Guarantees and Comprehensive Protection of the Rights of Children and Adolescents.

According to multiple studies, schools are a safe environment for children and adolescents, the loss of learning limits their social skills and participation in society, coupled with the effects of the suspension of face-to-face classes in the pandemic.

“As a National Human Rights Institution, we urgently urge all parties: the government and teachers’ unions to establish the necessary mechanisms to guarantee the return to classes as soon as possible, so that the right to education in equality is guaranteed in our country. and be the same for everyone, without rights or privileges,” the entity said.
