The JetBlue airline will be sanctioned by the National Institute for the Protection of Consumer Rights (Pro Consumer), due to the constant complaints and claims that the institution has received for the services offered to its users, in addition to the fact that it has not heeded the various warnings that have been made to it.

This was confirmed today by the director of Pro Consumidor, Eddy Alcántara, who pointed out that JetBlue would be subject to fines for its breaches, in addition to the possibility of financially compensating those affected, as stated in Law 358-05, on the Protection of Rights to the consumer.
“With JetBlue we have met to talk about the disagreements we had and that they had to resolve. But more complaints kept coming in, prompting us to issue several warnings to them,” he explained.
Alcántara assured that on Wednesday the representatives of the airline asked to visit the authorities of Pro Consumidor, but, he said, that the institution will proceed to apply the provisions of the Law 358-05, due to several warnings.
YoHe indicated that the sanctions will depend on the seriousness of the case.
“The sanctions are from one salary, up to 500 or 5,000 salaries, according to the seriousness of the event. If there is any other violation of any particular regulation, we process the file”, he stated.
