After the Vice Minister of Coordination and Government Management, Gustavo Torrico, apologized for the insults issued on Tuesday, the mayor of El Alto Eva Copa said that the authority did the right thing, but this will not stop the judicial process for political violence that he is promoting against himbecause he wants to set a precedent.
In a political act, Torrico said that “if we were committed to the MAS, not even the crazy woman would be the mayor of El Alto.”
“The process is already there. I’m not going to remove it. This is going to continue, because there has to be a precedent. Any person, not because she is Eva Copa or because she is the mayor of El Alto, but any woman who is in the political arena deserves respect”, Copa said at a press conference.
In a video, Torrico stated that he had apologized to Copa over the phone and publicly. He assured that it was not his intention to offend a woman from El Alto.
The mayor indicated that in the first instance she would have accepted Torrico’s apologies, but the deputy minister tried to “disguise the words” and accuse other people of misrepresenting.
The deputy minister said that on Friday he would meet with Copa; however, the mayor clarified that she is traveling to Washington (USA). Finally, Copa expressed that she is not spiteful, and that if Torrico calls her to a meeting she will attend in the framework of the coordination for El Alto, because the issues should not be mixed.
