In addition, during the second week of the school break, the levels reach 95%, the highest number in the last ten years, and even the records from before the coronavirus pandemic were exceeded.
Although visitors came to the city from all over the country, the majority came from the province of Buenos Aires and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, with a stay level of 4 to 5 days per visitor.
In this regard, the secretary of Tourism of the municipality, Marcos Grosso, indicated: “our city had the best winter vacations of the last 10 years, with an occupation of places superior to 85%”.
And he added that the level of tourism made a great contribution to the local economy: “According to the calculations made, more than $500 million have poured into the local economy in recent weeks”.
Whale watching, the biggest attraction

In the region, there are six companies authorized from Puerto Pirámides, a town located within the Valdés Peninsula, near Puerto Madryn, to carry out this activity, since, every year, some 2,000 whales arrive in this area to reproduce.
