The Industry Confidence Index (ICI), from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), dropped 1.7 points from June to July this year, after three consecutive highs. As a result, the indicator reached 99.5 points, on a scale from zero to 200 points.
In the quarterly moving average, the indicator is still up: 0.7 point. In July, 11 of the 19 industrial segments surveyed by FGV had a drop in confidence.
The main decline was observed in the Expectations Index, which measures the confidence of the Brazilian industry in relation to the future, which lost 2.6 points, reaching 97.6 points.
The Present Situation Index, which measures the perception of the present, also retreated, but in a more moderate way, losing 0.9 point and reaching 101.4 points.
The Installed Capacity Utilization Level of Industry increased by 0.9 percentage point in July and reached 82.3%, the highest level since March 2014.
