After not getting a solution from the state authorities, truckers and carriers from different sectors today join the forceful measure promoted to demand the reduction of G. 1000 per liter in the price of diesel.
Juan Villalba, representative of the truckers’ union, mentioned that they have unanimously decided to take to the streets starting this Wednesday. They will carry out a peaceful mobilization, concentrating on Caacupé, Toll Ypacaraí, San Bernardino-Luque, Limpio, Remanso, UNA-San Lorenzo Faculty, Aratirí, Guarambaré and Paraguarí. The measure of force does not contemplate the blocking of routes in different parts of the country.
The trade unionist stated that they met several times with the national authorities without having a solution to the request and that short, medium and long distance transport companies will be added to the measure adopted.
THE KEY POINTS OF THE UNEMPLOYMENT
According to Villalba, the request they make is the reduction of fuel of G. 1000, however, from Petropar they had offered discounts of up to G. 400 through cards linked to transport registered in Dinatran and G. 650 with freight release.
“We do not agree with the G. 400 card, one must load G. 1. million or 2 million and from that it is deducted and who is the worker who has those amounts of money in his wallet today,” he said. .
The price of the toll is another point questioned by the trade unionist, he requested that the Government should analyze the situation of citizens and the “blows” that they may suffer in their pockets. “We have just come out of a pandemic and now we have to return to another blow right in the pockets, for that reason we have decided to claim for the price of the toll, we know that in some way we are all affected by the constant increases,” he pointed out.
They have discussed the issue with the government on six occasions, they always responded to their call, but so far they have not been able to reach an agreement. “The one who always put his part was the president of Petropar, but that was not achieved with the Ministries of Finance and Industry and Commerce, there were always the deputy ministers who have no decision-making power and have to go back to consult with their representatives. respective ministers,” he added.
It is estimated that some 17,000 truckers will participate in the demonstrations, on this first day some 5,000 will take to the streets. On the other hand, the long, short and medium distance carriers that join together will affect some 20,000 users. “Then what we request is that there be a drop in fuel at the national level, not only for us but for all sectors and citizens in general,” he said.
Significant rise in fuel, the trade unionist stated that the first and second were not so high, instead the third and fourth were very abusive. “For that reason we are not here and if some carriers do it, it is because of the possibility of keeping track of expenses.
