The MAS showed its convening power with a march in support of the president Luis Arce against alleged destabilizing efforts by the institutions of Santa Cruz who demand a “timely” and “transparent” census in 2023.

MAS militants and leaders met at 4:00 p.m. yesterday in the Urban Park and from there they walked through the streets on a route that contemplated his passage through Ómar Chávez Avenue, where the Government building is located.

Once there, they questioned the management of Governor Luis Fernando Camacho, whom they blamed for not having attended the meeting of the National Council of Autonomies (CNA) in which the postponement of the survey initially scheduled for November 16 was requested.

“We ask Camacho and the lodges of Santa Cruz to respect us, that they do not speak on behalf of Santa Cruz because they do not represent us”, expressed Councilman José Quiroz (MAS) at the beginning of the march. The mayor emphasized his rejection of the strikes. “They want to stop to starve us,” he sentenced.

the march tended with a rally at the foot of the El Chiriguano monument where fiery speeches were heard against the Civic Committee, Camacho and the rest of the organizations that promoted the strike on Monday. In fact, they disqualified the measure and linked it to the tension that occurred, especially in the vicinity of the Three Thousand Plan.

Miguel Delgadillo, leader of the urban direction of the MAS in Santa Cruz, said that the social organizations and those that pursue the objective of reactivate the economy “they defeated Camacho because that strike failed.”

The leader assured that if people “closed their businesses it was for fear of looting and robbery.” The evaluation of the leaders contradicts the assessment made, on Monday, by civic leaders and the Interinstitutional Committee about the “discipline and conscience” with which the population acted to demand a timely census in 2023.
René Troncoso, from the Union Federation, went further and proposed to “nationalize” the private companies of Santa Cruz.

“These logieros and bad businessmen are organizing and we are going to support our brother President. Let’s find a way to nationalize the companies of these logieros and bad businessmen,” he said after endorsing the position that President Arce himself issued over the weekend when he warned of the existence of political interests that aim to destabilize his government.

The head of the MAS in Santa Cruz, Marco Fernández, read the final resolution of the meeting. The central axis of the document was precisely “a resounding support” in favor of the president and vice president, David Choquehuanca.

Of course, the document that was approved by acclamation “suggested”, the socialization of the census ballot, one of the arguments used by the Government to postpone the census for 2024, but an aspect that points to the transparency of the National Institute of Statistics (INE) and the incorporation of the original language in the survey. They also claimed for a “well done cartography”, but in the end the document did not refer to the date of the survey.
