The Mayor’s Office of Caracas presented the Waraira Repano award, in first class, to the president of Fundapatrimonio, María Elisa Domínguez Velasco, to the sectoral vice president of Citizen Security, Remigio Ceballos, and to the head of Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández.
The decoration was delivered by the mayor of the Libertador municipality, Carmen Melendez, During the special session of Municipal Council for the 455th anniversary of the city of Caracas.
The award was also presented to the historian Omar Hurtado, defender of the new symbols of the city. Also, the event recognized the petroglyphs, a design engraved in rock, as Cultural Heritage of Venezuela, reviews the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).
“Caracas is a mosaic of all of Venezuela because the people of Caracas have always received everyone who comes with a lot of love and affection,” said the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez.
He added that Venezuela and Caracas will continue to resist, in honor of all the native peoples, liberating heroes and in honor of Commander Chavez.
Likewise, the head of government of the Capital District, Nahúm Fernández, pointed out that this July 25 the struggle of the original peoples is remembered. “To talk about Caracas is to talk about anti-imperialism,” Fernandez stressed.
