Santo Domingo.- The Senate On Tuesday afternoon, the project for the Domain Extinction Law was approved, which seeks to prosecute assets obtained irregularly.
The piece was approved unanimously with 29 votes in favor, and will now be sent to the Executive Power for its promulgation, which will definitively convert it into law.
The initiative was approved as a simple and non-organic law as some sectors of society had been demanding.
The greatest resistance to the Extinction Law came from the opposition parties, PLD and Fuerza del Pueblo, but this Friday morning the senator for the FP, Dionis Sánchez, announced that he would vote in favor of approving the project because the modifications that the deputies did to him, they eliminated the aspects that collided with the Constitution of the Republic.

On his side, the spokesman for the block of senators of the PLD, Yván Lorenzo, had reiterated that they would vote for the Extinction Law because in his opinion most of the weaknesses of the piece were corrected.
He added that it is an initiative to combat corruption and money laundering in the Dominican Republic.
