A new attack was recorded against the Public Force on Tuesday night in the village of La Mata, in the municipality of La Gloria, Cesar, where the Police substation was attacked, as confirmed by the mayor of that town.
The attack with explosives left three people injured, including two police officers and a civilian. who was visiting one of the detainees.

Through social networks, the inhabitants of the area shared images and videos in which they are observed several vehicles on fire and the fear of people bewildered by the terrorist attack.

“It is an attack that took place in the village of La Mata, in the department of Cesar. There was an attack against the Police substation and the first versions indicate that it was a car bomb but we are investigating. Other people tell us that they were motorized and launched explosive devices,” he said. Jorge Eliécer Toro, mayor of La Gloria, Cesar.
This terrorist attack is added to those that have been registered in recent weeks in other regions of the country and that have claimed the lives of more than 30 members of the Public Force.

“It must be said that a mortar grenade was found on the road, it seems that they also threw cartridges and what we do have is three wounded, including a patrol car and a police assistant. There is also a civilian affected, that he is a pastor of an evangelical church who at the time of the attack was visiting a detainee and praying for him,” Toro added.
The mayor explained that the injured receive medical care at the José David Padilla Villafañe Regional Hospital in Aguachica, Cesar, to where they were taken by ambulance. However, his health status is unknown.

Meanwhile, the authorities announced an investigation of the events, while security was redoubled throughout the municipality in order to guarantee the safety of citizens.

“The Army is in the place and we are attentive to the development of what happens. It is very unfortunate what is happening with the Police, especially this month, where we have had attacks and a ‘pistol plan’. This cannot continue happening”, concluded the mayor of La Gloria, Jorge Eliécer Toro.
