Unilever is synonymous with hundreds of brands that are at the top of collective recognition. The firm represents more than 400 in 190 countries, some of them are Nevex, Love, Beauty & Planet, Dove or Hellmann’s.
As of this Friday, the company, until now headed by Teresa Cometto, will have a new leader in Uruguay. This is the Argentine Fernando Barreto.
“It is an honor to take on this challenge in a company that I feel is my own, since I have been part of Unilever for 26 years. From this new role, I hope to continue with the great work that Teresa has carried out, who has been a fundamental pillar in contributing to the company with her leadership, always leading it with excellence, passion and commitment,” said Barreto, adding that it has been 26 years since prepare for this challenge.
Barreto, 48, has a degree in Marketing, has held various roles within the company in Argentina in the area of Customer Development, serving in the last six years as Key Account Manager of national chain accounts.
Along the same lines, Cometto was grateful for having had “the privilege of working in a company that has the firm purpose of improving our planet and our society”.
“It fills me with pride to have contributed my grain of sand so that Unilever Uruguay today has such an important role in the application of the Sustainable Life Plan, promoting actions and policies aimed at building a better future for the next generations. Today I hand over the baton to Fernando, with the peace of mind that his experience and manifest ability will ensure the success of his management”, stated Cometto.
The outstanding businesswoman will continue working at the Academy and on personal projects related to volunteering.
