“Cuba yes, Yankees no,” was the chant promoted by the Cuban ambassador to Uruguay, Zulan Popa, this Tuesday in the Sala Zitarrosa. It was during an act 69 years since the assault on the Moncada barracksactivity promoted by the PIT-CNT.
The harangue, already ending his speech, was accompanied by the public present.
Popa recalled the “very emotional day” and expressed “profound gratitude” for the Uruguayan “solidarity” with Cuba. Along these lines, and on behalf of the island’s government, he greeted the Uruguayan Anti-Imperialist Committee of Solidarity with Cuba.
“When the attempts to suffocate us multiply, we say without hesitation that we will defend the legacy of Fidel (Castro), Abel Santamaría, Melba (Hernández), Haydée (Santamaría) and the assailants in Moncada. We continue to defend our revolution”, express.
