The net did not sway in the match that opened the 21st round of Série B of the Brazilian Championship. This Tuesday (26), Chapecoense and Grêmio drew goalless at Arena Condá, in Chapecó (SC).
Verdão do Oeste was at 23 points, in 14th position, and could be overtaken in the sequence of the round, but without risk of entering the relegation zone. The Tricolor gaucho, with 37 points, remains in the G4 regardless of the other results, but can drop from second to fourth, if Vasco and Bahia win their respective commitments.
In the first two thirds of the initial stage, Grêmio was dominant in the offensive field, even without creating real scoring opportunities. In the 15 minutes before the break, Chapecoense launched itself further, taking advantage of the expulsion of midfielder Bitello, who received a direct red card for lifting his leg too much and hitting the face of forward Perotti. The score, however, remained unchanged.
In the second half, Verdão kept the ball in the attacking field, asserting the numerical superiority, but had as a more acute chance a header from Perotti, in the 49th minute, after a corner kick from the right, which goalkeeper Gabriel Grando saved. Tricolor retreated the lines and worried about managing the tie.
Chapecoense opens the 22nd round on Sunday (31), at 16:00 (Brasília time), against Vasco, in São Januário, Rio de Janeiro. Grêmio will only play on the 5th, at 9:30 pm, at the Princess’s Golden Earring, in Campinas (SP), against Guarani.
