The president of the Council for Transparency (CPLT), Francisco Leturia, addressed what has been the Government’s actions in the campaign ahead of the exit plebiscite on September 4, calling the situation “anomalous.”
in conversation with emmolLeturia maintained that there is a “vacuum” by not defining “an independent body dedicated to informing, beyond the Government”, since the Executive has been in charge of carrying out the dissemination of the proposed new Constitution and delivering different supplies to citizens.
“The government should be, it seems to me, extremely prudent, because no one can report without showing where their heart is and that can cause permanent institutional damage,” he said.
Regarding the controversy generated by the Minutes of the Approval Command that links the campaign with various actions by President Boric, the CPLT leader pointed out that “it would be good if he clarified it so that we would all have peace of mind that a command does not have its time, of his sayings and things like that”.
“I really don’t think that’s the case and I hope it’s the wrong news,” he concluded.
