Possible extension of the State of Exception: deputy PC asks the Government to show progress in the Good Living Plan

the deputy Alexandra Placencia (PC) asked the Government to present advances in the Good Living Plan -oriented to the restitution of lands for the native peoples and the realization of territorial parliaments, among other aspects- before the vote on the extension of the State of Exception, in force for the provinces of Biobío and Arauco, in the Biobío region, and throughout La Araucanía.

“We must evaluate the progress so far. The Ministry of the Interior must show progress not only in the persecution of organized crime, but also in the land restitution agenda and the Good Living Plan,” Placencia told Radio Bio Bio.

“There are parliamentarians and parliamentarians who are also demanding a State of Exception for the Los Ríos region, however it seems to me that there is no history or conditions that justify it,” he added.

The Chamber of Deputies and Deputies and the Senate will vote this Friday a new extension to the State of Exception. It will be the fourth time that the Government of President Gabriel Boric asks Congress to extend this measure.
